INDIAN CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT MARKETS: A REVIEW OF 2015 AND A FORECAST TO 2020

Off-Highway Research's Annual Reviews are summaries of construction sold by product type and by country looking at the last five year's sales data and looking forward for the next five years.

Typical coverage includes: Country Analyses (fifteen European countries), Equipment Analyses (fifteen product types), Production Analyses and International Prespectives.

Construction equipment demand exceeded 50,000 units for the first time in 2007, but declined by nine per cent in 2008 in the wake of the global economic crisis and witnessed a further drop of 11 per cent in 2009.  The market recovered strongly with growth of 45 per cent in 2010 and 22 per cent in 2011, when it peaked at 72,197 units.  However, sales could not be sustained at this level due to the ‘policy paralysis’ phase of the previous government and declined by eight per cent in 2012, 16 per cent in 2013 and a further 14 per cent in 2014 to settle at 47,889 units.  Nevertheless, after declining for three consecutive years, the trend reversed and the market grew by two per cent to 48,883 units in 2015.
