Atlas Copco Road Construction Equipment – Dynapac (hereafter referred to as Atlas Copco – Dynapac) is one of the undisputed world leaders in the technology of compaction equipment, and a maker of a wide range of equipment for road building and construction.
It was founded in 1934 in Stockholm, Sweden by three individuals who acquired a patent for the vibration of concrete. They named the company AB Vibro-Betong. In 1941 it opened a factory in Ljungby, Sweden and soon after the end of the Second World War it established its first overseas plant in the USA in 1946.
Atlas Copco – Dynapac is famous for its role in the introduction of vibratory compaction and its first vibratory plate dates back as far as 1947. One year later it established its research laboratory and in 1953 it launched its first vibratory roller.
